Dismissal in Zomato, hundreds of employees in trouble

According to a Moneycontrol report, 1,500 customer care executives were recruited in the company under the Zomato Associate Accelerator Program (ZAAP). These employees were expecting promotions after completion of one year, but the company announced their dismissal. The contracts of most of the employees were not renewed and they were removed without any notice. The company has cited poor performance, disorganization, increasing role of AI in customer support, and cost reduction as the reason for this dismissal.
